Why Visit SkyView Stockholm?

The Avicii Arena

Stand in the shadow of an architectural icon: the Avicii Arena (formerly the Ericsson Globe). As the world's largest spherical building, this massive white orb is the centerpiece of the Stockholm skyline. Seeing it from the ground is impressive, but scaling its curved exterior offers a completely new appreciation for its sheer scale and the futuristic design that has made it a Swedish landmark since 1989.

The Glass Gondolas

Board one of the two specially designed glass gondolas for a ride unlike any other. These spherical cabins offer unrestricted visibility on all sides, ensuring every passenger has a "window seat." As the doors close, you will feel the smooth lift as the gondola crawls up the side of the arena, providing a thrilling sensation of floating free above the city streets.

The Summit Views

Reach the apex of the journey at 130 meters (425 feet) above sea level, where the gondola pauses to let you soak in the scenery. From this vantage point, you can enjoy a majestic 360-degree view of Stockholm, stretching from the dense urban center to the glittering archipelago. It is the perfect opportunity to spot key landmarks and orient yourself within the city’s beautiful geography.

The Engineering Marvel

Witness the incredible technical achievement that makes SkyView possible. The attraction required reinforcing the arena’s roof with 42 metric tons of steel and mounting 70 tons of rails onto the existing structure. As you ascend, you get a close-up look at this precision engineering, marveling at how the tracks were seamlessly integrated into the sphere without compromising its delicate shape.

The Story of Construction

Before you even board the gondola, immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the Globe and the SkyView project. Your visit begins with a short, engaging film shown in the connected media room. This introduction reveals the challenges of building such a massive sphere and the ingenuity behind the lift system, adding a layer of depth and context to your ride to the top.
